17-year-old student Janelle has a really strict mother, causing her to be isolated from her peers. To fit in, Janelle sneaks out at night to attend a party, taking ecstasy (MDMA) when offered. She starts sneaking out more, doing drugs more often, until she gets a seizure, and her mother learns that she has been doing drugs. After that, Janelle was brought to rehabilitation. With a stronger support system, she was able to recover from the withdrawal and reliance on ecstasy, and started afresh in a new school year.

In this society where drugs are normalized, our protagonist succumbs to this ritual; a never-ending cycle of bad habits, and spiraling deeper into addiction. Furthermore, his crisis forces him to question societal pressures and whether short-term acceptance can remain as a substitute for long-term fulfillment. More importantly, he poses the most crucial question: Is this the path he truly wanted in life?

Are the Singapore drug laws strict or not. To decide that, we decided to interview some students ranging from those who have never seen drugs at all to an ex Drug abuser. We ask them what they knowledge do they have about Singapore Drug laws aswell as their personal perspective on whether the rules are strict enough or if they feel that there is a need for further restriction or redcution.

Through Her Eyes

‘Through Her Eyes’ is about the journey to recovery of a drug addict, Shaun, through the perspective of his younger sister, Shayna. The film features how his drug use did not only affect Shaun himself, but even his loved ones around him.

When Shaun finally decides to make the step to recovery, the effects are definitely felt by his loved ones, especially his sister, showing that every little effort matters.

The Bystander

“The Bystander” is a narrative short exploring peer pressure, silence, and influence. It follows a teen who witnesses his friends experimenting with substances, and does nothing. But staying silent comes with consequences. Jesse, a heroin user, had convinced his two friends, Jay and Dani, to try heroin. Sam who was reluctant at first, ended up giving in to Jesse’s pressure. As Jesse was pressuring Sam, Alex watched on the sidelines and did nothing to stop Jesse. As a result of his inaction, Sam ends up having a medical emergency after being injected with heroin.
